African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) is seeking to appoint a qualified and reputable Art Curator to design, supply, and install artworks and other related decorative elements for its Head Office building, which is currently under construction in Abuja. The completion of the building is anticipated by the end of March 2026. The scope of work of this project will encompass specific deliverables, as detailed in the following sections.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
In line with its relocation plan to Abuja, Africa Re (the Client) is currently developing a high-end head office building on Plot 1573, Ralph Shodeinde Street, in the Central Business District of Abuja, adjacent to the Ministry of Finance.
The project is currently under construction and has a completion rate of 76%. It is a mixed-use grade A building development that includes premium office spaces, a restaurant, and gym facilities, all complemented by ample and well-planned parking provisions.
Africa Re now plans to appoint and collaborate with a reputable Art Curator, for the design and installation of artworks and other related decorative elements to finalize all remaining interior decoration works to achieve full completion of its facility. This will be executed in line with the design intent and specifications established by Africa Re’s internal design team, and which is attached as a design mood board to this RFP.
The appointed company will provide structured and culturally cohesive artistic elements that enhance the architectural ambiance of the building while reflecting Africa Re’s identity, heritage, and corporate values. The Curator is anticipated to:
(1) Develop an artistic direction aligned with Africa’s cultural richness.
(2) Curate premium-grade artworks, sculptures, and decorative installations.
(3) Ensure all artworks are handmade, original, and ethically sourced from African artists.
(4) Reinforce the spatial identity of the building by integrating art seamlessly into the interior design.
(5) Coordinate closely with the General Services Department and the design/engineering Consultants.
