Africa Re hereby announces the vacancy of the position of IT, Administration, Media & Communication in her Dubai Office, on the Professional Staff Grade level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT, Administration, Media & Communication Manager will manage the overall technology infrastructure for the Dubai Office including planning, implementation, and management of the software applications, hardware infrastructure and designs that support operations, liaising as relevant with technology service providers and authorities

DUTIES/JOB DETAILS

The duties of the IT, Administration, Media & Communication Manager shall comprise amongst others:

ICT & Business Development

  • Manage ICT, installations, severs, data security and systems engineering
  • Programme and develop all underwriting tools Proportional / Non-Proportional – Short tail / Long tail.
  • Develop exposure rating tools and pricing Tools in Advanced Excel
  • Develop pricing tools in advanced Excel
  • Develop presentations using animation, videos and sound effects

Administration & Corporate Affairs:

  • Manage Front Desk & Public Relations duties.
  • Oversee the office administration, procurement, supplies maintenance & office management
  • Advise Africa Re in Dubai and it Senior Management on the most effective strategic moves to ensure the company’s success, based on a “360-degree perspective” of the Corporation affairs in DIFC
  • Be the focal point for any IT requirements (Software/Hardware) that Africa Re wants to purchase and import from Dubai.
  • Work in close relationship with the IT person in Cairo Office for any ICT related matters concerning the two profit centers
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by Management.

Main Competencies

MAIN COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Good knowledge of DFIC/DFSA reporting system
  • Good Knowledge and/or Practical experience on Azure, Microsoft 365, Data and AI and Dynamics 365
  • Knowledge of developing underwriting pricing tools.
  • Good understanding of IT risk, control and security processes
  • Experience in Office Administration in Dubai/DIFC.
  • Ability to work and communicate (oral/written) appropriately with all levels of Management and across group operations.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes
  • Good team player with proven leadership and managerial experience;
  • Ability to work in a bi-lingual multi-cultural environment;
  • Ability to multitask and mange change
  • Excellent Problem-solving skills (i.e., conceptual and analytical thinking).
  • High level of Integrity.

Academic Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Applicants shall be holders of:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering / Network Systems Administration / Network Architecture / Network & Communication Management, or any related discipline
  • Certificate in Network Engineering or CCNA Routing and Switching Certification
  • Good Knowledge and/or Practical experience on Azure, Microsoft 365, Data and AI and Dynamics 365
  • Any of these other relevant certifications will be an added advantage: MCSE, MCSA, PMP, CSM, AWS, CISM, CEH, CISSP, CRISC, CISA, GCPCA, etc.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years post-graduation experience, with at least five (5) years in relevant ICT roles or in similar role preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industry, financial services sector and/or in international finance institutions.
  • Experience with companies regulated by DIFC/DFSA and familiar with its legal and organizational framework is required.
  • Relevant working exposure in a multicultural environment for at least five (5) years in the African and Middle East context.
  • Experience in the reinsurance / insurance Industry is necessary.
  • Working knowledge and understanding Africa Re’s business;
  • Knowledge of Insurance / Reinsurance practices will be an added advantage

Applicants must be:

  • Nationals of Member States of Africa Re;
  • Fluent in English and Arabic with working knowledge of French. A good knowledge of the three languages will be an added advantage
