Reception Cocktail

A cocktail reception was held on 30th of June 2008 on the occasion of the visit of our M.D, Mr. Bakary Kamara to Cairo Regional office. The reception was attended by leaders and major players in the Egyptian insurance market and it was successfully organized.

Mr. Omar Gouda, the Regional Director of Cairo office welcomed the guests in his opening speech and gave the floor to Mr. B. Kamara. In his speech, Mr. Kamara briefly highlighted the current development of the corporation together with the latest financial figures and the plans for the near future to expand business more by establishing new Retakaful Company in the region. According to him, the corporation reported a gross premium of US$369.50 million, technical results of US$7.2 million and pre-tax profit of US$35 million in 2007. He also used the occasion to inform the audience of Africa Re recent rating of A- by A.M Best with stable outlook

Dr. Adel Mounir, the chairman of the Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority, took the floor and thanked Africa Re for its vital role in insurance industry in the entire Africa and expressed his special thanks to Cairo Office for the technical support and the continuous support given to the Egyptian market

At the end of the evening our guests expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the successful event.
